It’s been about a year since getting a Dell Vostro 1400. This was the first Dell I’ve owned personally. I’ve support the pieces of shit at work for awhile though. Anyways, I wanted to use this post to follow up on how I’m liking it.
Fucking battery light flashes blue and then amber 4 times. The manual says it means the battery needs replaced. Ran the laptop for 3 hours on the battery no problem. Stupid light won’t go away. Warranty is expired so I guess I will run it until the wheels er, battery falls off.
Case cracked right above the express card slot.
Only 1 of the 2 audio jacks works most of the time. The other one has a lot of noise.
1 bad hard drive replaced under warranty.
Likeliness to buy another Dell laptop. 4 out of 5. (1 being for sure and 5 being fuck no)
What can I say? It was cheap. I guess you really do get what you pay for.
My next laptop will likely be a Thinkpad or a Macbook Pro. Leaning more towards a Thinkpad, but we will see.
